Photo exhibition

Angela Peralta Gallery
through April 14

Mazatlan, our beloved Mazatlan: land of the deer, Pearl of the Pacific, cradle of successive waves of immigration and a colonial port. Like José Alfredo Jiménez, composer of our de facto municipal anthem, El Corrido de Mazatlán, "I am from abroad, I was born far away." My love with this beautiful port began in 1979, when I arrived here on the train "La Bala" from Nogales. Years later, we celebrated our wedding in the garden of the old Hotel Camino Real and then the graduation of our son from the ICO. We are blessed that the Mazatlecos have generously received our family in this foster home, allowing us to fulfill that verse from the corrido that "here life goes by without crying."

500 years "Encounter Between Cultures"
Dzul Dance

Angela Peralta Theater
Tickets: $300, $250, $200, $150 pesos

In this choreographic work, Javier Dzul reflects on the influence of the cultures that have shaped the being of the present. Religions, preferences and aesthetic differences, art, culture, mysticism, forms of expression, legends, heroes and villains, gods and demons, from beginning to end, from the past to the present.
Mexico is a heritage of a multitude of cultures that creates a unique and enterprising being in a future without barriers.
Inspired by the great wealth of cultural influences that have impacted the human being, Javier Dzul decided to start an investigation that took several episodes.
These are some of his reactions to the confrontation of some of the first cultures.
