Biography

Representing one of the strongest props of the flamenco musical movement in Mazatlan, Sinaloa; At the end of 2007, the Suncaí Gitano group emerged as a frank and innovative proposal in the cultural development of the region, characterized particularly by the so-called flamenco rhythms or palos, which would later be enriched by different influences, breaking with the idea of ”flamenco pure”.

It is a group formed by Mazatlan musicians of wide artistic trajectory, intoxicated by the influence of the “flamenco duende” that fuse their knowledge and skills to offer the public the opportunity to know a bit of the enormous musical wealth that characterizes this multicultural genre.

Throughout 5 years of its formation the group has had the opportunity to present itself in an uninterrupted way in a bullfighting bar located in the historical center of Mazatlan, as well as has been invited to participate in the Festiva Dia de la Música 4 consecutive years and with the collaboration of the company Miura Expresión Flamenca in the FELIART 2009 2010. Within its repertoire are songs by Spanish composers such as: Sabina, Serrat, Rosana, Vanesa Martin, Manuel Carrasco among others, as well as bolereros, tangos and even salsa all these genres always accompanied by the flamenco bit and the peculiar touch of the group.

In 2011 they presented a show in homage to Joaquin Sabina entitled “Por qué usbran los motivos” in the Festival of the Day of Music in Mazatlàn.

At the beginning of 2012 they premiered the show “Entre patios y ventanas” with great success with the collaboration of bailaoras Nashieli Buelna and María José Valdés. And this year they presented the show “Mexico Flamenco” in the framework of the 2012 Music Day Festival.
