El Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Artes de Mazatlán (CULTURA)
has its origin in the City Development plan, wich was approved on May 21th of 2005. This Document established the creation of the Institute through Department of Culture and Department of Turistic Promotion fusion, regarding growing goals y education and Cultura difusion.
The Institute, as known as CULTURA, was created on July 2nd of 2005 too, anda was created like public department descentralizad , with the approvation of the town Council. Since then is responsible of areas previously appertaining to the Cultura Difusión Direction, CODETUR, the local Office of the Arts and the Representative Office of Angela Peralta Theater.
The Culture Difusion Office had like goal to promote the artistics and culturals values, as is the maintenance of the cultural hoard
On the other hand, CODETUR, created on 1975 worked as the responsible commission of the organization and development of Mazatlan like an atractive city to visit, of the Mazatlan Internacional Carnaval, also any kina of fairs and popular parties.
Mission
To spread and foment the artístics and cultural values in the community; to preserve traditions and tradiciones and cultural legacy of the town; to form competitive people in arts knowledge; to make known, Mazatlan, over the world like a wealthy city in traditions, culture and arts.
Vision
To be an important institute that, through out Arts promotion, became an important piece of community and the social, turistic and economic development of the town.
