Codirigida por Manuel Rochín y Manuel Ruiz, “Petición de mano” es una obra corta del dramaturgo ruso, Antón Chéjov que relata la curiosa forma en la que el joven “Ivan” un día sorprende a “Don Esteban” al pedir la mano de su hija “Natalia” con un pequeño inconveniente: éste primero tiene que convencerla a ella de que acepte ser su esposa. La declaración de amor no se concreta, puesto que antes debe crear la atmósfera romántica necesaria para pedir su mano, ambos entran en un par de discusiones sin importancia que al final provocan confusión hasta que el pretendiente pierde el interés por ella.
Esta versión mexicanizada de la obra incluyó además de la destacada actuación de los actores de Café Moliére Teatro: Elvira Salazar, Sergio Lizárraga y Manuel Rochín, la canción original “Estoy enamorado” interpretada por Sergio Galván que ayudó a tropicalizar esta obra del siglo 19  y darle  un aire contemporáneo acorde a temas de actualidad como las redes sociales.
Después de resolver sus conflictos al darse cuenta que el amor escondido de ambos era más fuerte y sellar su compromiso con un beso, los actores se tomaron de la mano y fueron despedidos con los aplausos del público de Casa Haas.

This “Mexicanized” version of the play included, in addition to the outstanding performance of the Café Moliére Theater actors: Elvira Salazar, Sergio Lizárraga and Manuel Rochín, the original song “Estoy Enamorado” performed by Sergio Galván that helped to localize this 19th century play and give a contemporary air using things like social networks.
