Es el venado “Mazatl” uno de los animales de mayor culto en Mesoamérica y el símbolo que unifica al norte y sur de Sinaloa, pues los indígenas mayo yoremes y los yaquis de Sonora, mantienen vivas las danzas y cantos para rendir culto a esta especie y Mazatlán “tierra de venados” lleva en el escudo su imagen.La presencia del venado, los petroglifos y el juego del Ulama, que aún se practica en Sinaloa pese a sus tres mil años de antigüedad, inspiran a Salvador Herrera para montar esta exposición que estará abierta a todo público del 21 de septiembre al 21 de octubre.

The Rubio Gallery will showcase the exhibition “MAZATL: Identity & Nature Through its exhibition “MAZATL: Identity & Nature”, Salvador Herrera seeks to exalt the roots and traditions of Sinaloa. The photographic exhibition will be inaugurated on September 21st at the Rubio Gallery at 7 pm.
The deer “Mazatl” is one of the most cultivated animals in Mesoamerica and the symbol that unifies the north and south of Sinaloa, as the natives Mayo Yoremes and the Yaquis of Sonora, keep the dances and songs alive to worship this species and Mazatlan, the “land of deer” has its image in tits sheild. The presence of the deer, in the petroglyphs and the game of Ulama, which is still practiced in Sinaloa despite being three thousand years old, inspire Salvador Herrera to mount this exhibition that will be open to the public from September 21 to October 21.
