Se exhibe este sábado en El Cinematógrafo “La Habitación” de Lenny Abrahamson

Inicia este sábado en El Cinematógrafo del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán el ciclo “Cine Indie”, una mirada a lo mejor del cine producido fuera de la corriente industrial. Con el término “Cine Independiente” (Indie) se hace referencia a las películas que se realizan al margen de los circuitos comerciales e industriales de la corriente dominantes, la llamada “Main Stream”; filmes de poco presupuesto producidos por pequeñas productoras.La película gira en torno a la joven Joey que fue secuestrada a los diecinueve años de edad por el malvado Nick. En ese ambiente de encierro ha nacido Jack, un niño de cinco años que vive en la misma habitación donde nació, come, juega y aprende la vida al lado de su madre.
Por la noche, ella lo pone en el viejo armario para que duerma, por si aparece el malvado viejo Nick. La habitación en el hogar de Jack, mientras que para su madre es el cubículo en el que lleva siete años encerrada.
Con gran tesón, la joven ha creado en ese reducido espacio una vida para su hijo, y su amor por él es un extraordinario y entrañable relato sobre el amor maternal, supervivencia y adaptación que por su extraordinaria calidad artística, consiguió entrar a los Premios Oscar, Globos de Oro, BAFTA, consiguiendo el de mejor actriz para Brie Larsen, entre otras distinciones.
