Este certamen se realiza en el marco de las actividades del Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán 2018, y es convocado por el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán bajo la dirección general de Raúl Rico González.El Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán entregará tres premios: 60 mil pesos al ganador del primer lugar; 40 mil al segundo y 30 mil pesos tercer lugar; el jurado otorgará las menciones honoríficas que considere convenientes.
Podrán participar en esta convocatoria, de manera individual o colectiva, los artistas originarios de los estados de Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California, Baja California Sur y Nayarit. Los artistas extranjeros deben comprobar una residencia mínima de tres años en los estados.
Se recibirán obras inéditas que no hayan participado en otros concursos ni en exposiciones realizadas entre enero y diciembre del 2017. La temática y técnica son libres. Los artistas tienen como plazo hasta el día 12 de enero de 2018 a las 13:00 horas para enviar sus trabajos. El fallo de los ganadores se dará a conocer el día viernes 26 de enero de 2018 a las 10:00 horas.

Fine artists invited to compete for the “Antonio López Sáenz” Award The call to participate in the XX edition of the “Antonio López Sáenz” Biennial, which will be rewarded to the best of the fine and visual arts produced in Northwest Mexico, is still open. This contest takes place within the framework of the activities of the International Carnaval of Mazatlan 2018, and is convened by the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan under the general direction of Raúl Rico González. The Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan will award three prizes: $60,000 pesos to the first place winner; $40,000 to second and $30,000 pesos to third place; the jury will award the honorable mentions that it deems appropriate.
