Guitarist Alan Noé Avendaño Guerra says he is happy, grateful and committed to Mazatlan and the Municipal Center of the Arts, an institution with which he signed an agreement to give back what he will learn in his training at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts from Helsinki, Finland, where he will study a Masters in Classical Guitar.
It will be a series of concerts, workshops and musical forums, where Alan Guerra will participate in his visits to the port when he is on school vacation, which will be directed to and taken advantage of by the young people of the Port of Mazatlan, as well as the public that likes to listen to classic guitar concerts.
“The agreement is to give what I know and what I want to improve is to give concerts, master classes, give diplomas for guitarists and be supporting the correction and redesign of the curricula of the School of Music. Working in collaboration with an educational institution gives me a lot of security,” he said.
Marsol Quiñónez Castro, General Director of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte, said that the agreement was finalized thanks to the interest of the Mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, who upon learning that a CMA teacher bet on professionalism, did not hesitate to contribute In this training, since without a doubt, the Mazatlecan society will benefit from what the musician learns.
Alan Guerra was the only Mexican musician accepted at the University of the Arts in Helsinki, Finland, his stay in the so-called Old Continent will be two and a half years, his first participation will be in the summer calendar of 2020.
