As everything that begins has its end, the Mazatlan Book Festival 2020, closed its activities after five days full of the best literature and events that enriched the cultural heritage and the heart of all kinds of audiences. A voice of great writers such as Paco Ignacio Taibo II, the Government of Mazatlan, had the great success of making one of the best book festivals in the history of the port and the expression of citizens, this festival was a showcase to the world of letters, a space that the Pearl of the Pacific needed. The response was so satisfactory that during the five days, more than 8 thousand people visited Centro Historico, home of FELIM 2020, more than 8 thousand books were sold and 400 copies were given away. Round tables, talks, book presentations, storytelling, workshops, artistic presentations, poetic slams, wall paintings, concerts, 120 editorial stamps and 30 stands, a variety of activities that could be enjoyed in spaces such as Plazuela Machado, Casa Haas, Angela Peralta Theater Gallery, Monument to the Venadito and the Bibliobús. We also had renowned personalities that shone, and that with their contribution exalted FELIM 2020, including the famous flute player Horacio Franco, politicician and writer Tatiana Clouthier, the writers Paco Ignacio Taibo II, Óscar de la Borbolla, Bernardo Fernández BEF, Armando Batra, Yeikol Polenski (President and General Secretary of the National Regeneration Movement political party) and the international singer Tania Libertad. Value, heart and effort of the Municipal Government headed by the Mayor, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan directed by José Ángel Tostado, in charge of the General Directorate, and the Brigade to Read in Freedom, quality in round tables, a profound literary journey through the arts and culture, shared experiences of great writers and exponents, an exceptional closure to the voice of Tania Libertad, and above all, the eminent response of the public, made the Book Festival Mazatlan 2020, the best of all, with the assignment that in 2021 we will have a new event and an better encounter with literature.
