Thanks to the citizen participation that came together in the screening of the feature film “Pacifico Norte”, a film that was written and directed by Valentina Sachetti, and that the Port of Mazatlan was the protagonist of several locations, the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan delivered the donation of 50 thousand 150 pesos to the Mazatlan DIF System, product of the ticket office.

Gabriela Peña Chico, President of the Mazatlan DIF System, welcomed the amount, which she said will be used to buy hearing devices for children in the port, while the remaining amount will be to buy food and blankets, which will be delivered in the coming days in several communities in the southern part of the rural area that are in vulnerable conditions.

“We feel really very happy and very grateful to the people who attended the movie, with Cultura for their support, this resource will be used to buy hearing aids for two children, as well as food and blankets to deliver in the rural area” said Peña Chico.

It was on January 14 when the Angela Peralta Theater brought together more than a thousand people who appreciated the film that tells a story in which “Sofia”, “Marielena”, and “Clara” take a vacation to the Mexican Pacific and discover that the days of intense youth are about to give way to the complex stage of adulthood.

José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, Office Manager of the General Directorate of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte, said that this type of action will be constant, making culture a link bridge for noble causes, entrusted to the Mayor of Mazatlan, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres.
