Over the years the Art Walk, El Camino al Arte, has become a platform to support and promote the artists of Mazatlán, with a view to the 16th edition, the call is open for all the artists who wish to be part of this event that will take place on the first Friday of each month starting in November 2021 and through April 2022.
Manry Fuentevilla, manager of the Proyecto Centro Histórico, indicated that the registrations of the interested parties can be made until September 30, it will cost $250 pesos per artist, a symbolic amount that covers the expenses of the event such as advertising, maps, triptychs, as well as the canvas to identify the participant’s site on the outside.
Artwalk promotes the visual arts, and artists participate in painting, sculpture, photography, engraving, jewelry, mixed media drawing, ceramics, and woodcutting, object art, among other techniques approved by the organizing committee.
During the fifteenth edition that was held in the years 2020 and 2021, 40 artists participated who exhibited their creations in 23 galleries, it is expected that for this edition the intervention of the exponents will increase by 10 percent.
Fuentevilla indicated that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the participants will apply the measures established by the authority, and inside they will maintain an ideal capacity to avoid crowds, it should be noted that the foreign community participates constantly each season.
