The Escuela Profesional de Danza de Mazatlán is a benchmark in Mexico for quality, learning, and, above all, for training expert dancers who succeed in different ways in the country. In this 2022, five EPDM graduates obtained scholarships from the Support for Creation and Cultural Projects (SACPC), granted by the Ministry of Cultura.
Of the total of 90 beneficiaries who obtained the “Stage Creators 2022” scholarship, former students Johnny Millán Cázares (IV generation), Oswaldo Gómez (XIV generation), Manuel Alejandro Chávez (XV generation), Karen Vilchis Pérez (XVIII generation) and José Martínez Guzmán (XX generation), appear on the list that is issued on the official sites that belongs to the Ministry of Cultura at the Federal level.
The recent graduate José Martínez Guzmán was chosen in the Stage Creator in Training line, while Oswaldo Gómez and Karen Vilchis were designated in the Stage Creator A category, and Manuel Chávez obtained the scholarship in Stage Creator B, they will receive a monthly scholarship for the next 12 months.
Millán Cázares, with more than 15 years on stage, was elected in the Stage Creator with Career category, a distinction that praises him and will give him the opportunity to remain on this scholarship for the next 3 years.
Claudia Lavista, Co-director of the EPDM, indicated that, with the results issued, those mentioned, become part of the select list of scholarship winners, where the institution she represents has given more than 50 scholarship holders in different types of incentives. for cultural creation, something that fills them with pride and motivates them to continue working.
For the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, directed by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, that the graduates of the EPDM succeed outside the classroom, is a source of pride for which they will continue to support in all possible ways, those who are in the classrooms, so that this type of achievement continues, and with it, the new generations are motivated to transcend as artists.
