They participate in the Cultural Festival to commemorate the 492nd anniversary of “Mestizaje” in Sinaloa

Applauded by the public by providing a memorable evening of opera and zarzuela, the Ángela Peralta Choir promised to return to Chametla.
The polyphonic group belonging to the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, participated this Sunday in the Cultural Festival to commemorate the 492nd anniversary of Mestizaje in Sinaloa.
The setting was the San Pedro Apóstol Parish, which was sold out in the presence of Rosarenses, Mazatlecos and some national and international tourists.
Among the repertoire they performed pieces from the opera “La Traviata” such as the Coro de Gitanas and Matadores; from Bizet’s opera “Carmen”, they performed La Habanera and Toreador.
The zarzuela shone with its own light through Los Nardos de Las Leandras; seguidillas of the verbena by La Paloma and Mazurka by the Sombrillas by Luisa Fernanda, performances that earned standing ovations.
Fernando Martínez, baritone; Marysol Calles, soprano; Alejandro Pacheco, tenor; Manuel Bernal, tenor, and mezzo-soprano Ángela Rodríguez were the guest soloists at the concert offered in Rosario.
Itzel Furichi, mezzo-soprano, was the singer of the Ángela Peralta Choir who had her solo, when interpreting the notes that maestro Sergio Castellanos emanated from the piano.
In 2023, the Cultural Festival of Mestizaje in Sinaloa was held from January 19th to 22nd with an artistic program that went through music, folklore, pre-Hispanic dance, theater, painting, contemporary dance and a gastronomic sampling.
The venues of the festival were: the San Pedro Apóstol Parish, Plazuela Benito Juárez, San Pedro Chametla Ejidal Commissariat and the People’s Court.
International tenor José Manuel Chú, the “Cochimi” Folk Group from Tijuana, Baja California, and the Escuinapa House of Culture Company, among other artists, starred in the main events of the Festival del Mestizaje Sinaloa 2023.
