The Mazatlán Cultural Festival 2024 presented an exciting concert with Adagio Trio, made up of Víctor Alonso Osuna (violin), Citlali Cisneros (cello) and Juan Pablo García (piano), at the Sagrada Familia Church.
The combination of classical music by Antonio Vivaldi and the passionate tango of Astor Piazzolla delighted the audience.
The pews of the Sagrada Familia church were completely occupied before the concert began, maestro Juan Pablo García thanked the attendance and explained that the musical works would not be performed in full.
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of the Port demonstrated the skill and virtuosity of the musicians. The audience gave a standing ovation to the mastery of the famous compositions that continue to inspire new generations.
During the performance of the Winter Station, the “E” string on Victor Alonso Osuna’s violin broke. However, the concert continued without interruptions, and maestro Juan Pablo Garcia explained the incident, highlighting the importance of moving forward.
In this regard, Victor Alonso Osuna said that the show has to go on and that Paganini’s violin strings broke during one of his concerts and he ended up playing only the G string.
At the end of the concert, priest Amador Campos said that it is necessary to listen to and admire the arts to permeate consciences and added that he remembers Maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda when he went to CERESO precisely to bring that atmosphere. Culture and art in all its manifestations always have to be present in society, he concluded.
