From October 4th to December 21st, Mazatlán becomes an unprecedented stage with the celebration of the Mazatlán Cultural Festival 2024, which this year celebrates its 31st anniversary with an impressive program announced today by the General Director of CULTURA, Raúl Rico González.
At a press conference held at the Casa del Marino, Rico González highlighted that the arts festival will host three major celebrations: the 150th anniversary of the Ángela Peralta Theater, the presentation of a commemorative book on the history of the city’s largest cultural venue, published by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán in collaboration with ISIC (the presentation will be on November 26th) and the celebration of 45 years of the artistic career of Mtro. Enrique Patrón de Rueda, a native of Mazatlán, recognized as the best orchestra director in Mexico (November 30th).
Present at the press conference, the Undersecretary of the Meetings Industry of the Ministry of Tourism of Sinaloa, Alejandro Higuera Osuna, said that the Cultural Festival is an effort that should be recognized because Mazatlán is one of the few municipalities in the country that has one of the best investments in cultural matters.
The official highlighted the importance of promoting art and culture because it is the best instrument, it is a good vaccine to prevent and combat issues of violence.
The FCM program is made up of 56 events, 12 major events, 10 stages and the participation of 1,635 artists from Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, the United States, Russia and Ukraine.
Positioned as the most important cultural festival in the Northwest, the Mazatlán Cultural Festival this year hosts 12 Major Events in its program.
