This show was produced by the SAS and the Instituto Sinaloense de Cultura in collaboration with the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán it is a production made with the fiscal stimulus of article 190 of the LISR (EFIARTES) and the support of the System of Support for Creation and Cultural Projects.
Romeo and Juliet will be directed by the best opera director in Mexico, Mazatlan’s Enrique Patrón de Rueda, a brilliant cast and 100 artists on stage, the opera combines several arts: music, theater, dance, as well as an attractive production of scenery and costumes that place us and transport us to a contemporary Italy.
The production is made up of large choirs, a symphony orchestra (OSSLA) and internationally renowned soloists who play the leading roles. Romeo and Juliet is currently one of the most beloved operas by audiences around the world.
This love story is set in Verona, Italy. The Capulets and Montagues are two rival families, who have hated each other for generations. The young Juliet and Romeo belong to these families. Despite coming from opposing families, they experience a tremendous love at first sight that leads them to marry in secret and to face dizzying situations among obstacles uncommon for two hearts and minds so fresh and innocent that it leads them to a tragic outcome.
