The Ángela Peralta Theater in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, was the perfect setting for the fourth concert of the XV Gordon Campbell Season, which took place this Sunday at 12:00 noon.

Under the direction of Maestro Gordon Campbell, the Camerata Mazatlán joined Ars Sonui Kids, a group of talented young performers from Aguascalientes, Mexico, to present a serenade for strings that delighted the audience.

The concert, titled “Serenade for strings Op.22 by Dvorak”, was a musical journey that included elegant waltzes, wordless romances and bacchanalian dances.

The concert was composed of tender and soft music, waltzes of high interpretive elegance, and of course, a repertoire that evolved in the concentration and precision of all the string musicians on stage.

The interpretation of the Estudiantina by E. Waldteufel, Romance without words by G. Fauré, Asturias (Leyenda) by Albéniz, Danse Bacchanele by Saint, The Copenhagen steam railway galop, and the Serenade for strings Op. 22 by Dvorack, Moderato, Tempo di vals, Scherzo vivace, Larghetto and Finale Allegro Vivace, demonstrated the skill and passion of the musicians.

Maestro Campbell expressed his happiness for having three favorites present: Nina Farvarshchuck, concertmaster of the Camerata Mazatlán; Magdalena Hernández, concertmaster of the Orquesta de Aguascalientes, and young violinist Amitai de la Luna Sandoval.

This concert was another example of the cultural wealth that can be enjoyed in Mazatlán, thanks to the support of the Instituto Munucipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán and the 15th Gordon Campbell Season, which presents concerts every Sunday at 12:00 noon.
