The Instituto Munucipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán invites you to the exhibition “Syzygy – Syzygia”, a project curated by Dory Perdomo and Cesar Forero that will open on January 30th at the Ángela Peralta Gallery.
This exhibition is a call to reflection on equal rights and the need for a more just and equitable world. Through works by artists of diverse expressions, the curatorship seeks to show a position of equality and leave a legacy of a group of artists with an egalitarian mentality.
The exhibition has the participation of co-curators from Colombia, Brazil and Canada, who have selected works that reflect the diversity and cultural richness of our continent. Guest co-curators are Milton Afanador from Colombia, Cecilia Stelini from Brazil, and Melissa La Porte and Virginia Eichhorn from Canada.
“Syzygy – Syzygia” is the first project in a three-year series that will address issues concerning minorities, such as LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC, with an emphasis on displaced and immigrant communities around the world.
The exhibition will open on January 30th at 7:00 p.m. at the Peralta Gallery and admission will be free during its stay, which will run until March 16th.
Come and enjoy this exhibition that seeks to promote equality, justice and cultural diversity.
