Renowned Mexican writer, poet and journalist Myriam Moscona arrived in Mazatlán to teach the Master Class in Poetry “Gilberto Owen”, entitled “The musical dimension in a literary text”. This literary workshop, which takes place at the Ángela Peralta Gallery, is the result of the collaboration between the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán and the College of Sinaloa.

Myriam Moscona describes this workshop as a creative literary course that explores the relationship between music and literature.

The 20-hour workshop will take place from February 17 to 21 and will feature a select group of students, including local poets, writers, and literary critics such as Karina Castillo, Frida Fernández, and Geovanni Osuna.

Elmer Mendoza, president of the Colegio de Sinaloa, opened the workshop and congratulated the participants for being part of this important course that aims to promote reading and writing, and shared the desire that at the end of the course, this institutional effort can culminate in a poetic anthology.

Myriam Moscona emphasized that literature is also music, and that through words and the rhythm of breathing, more beauty and elegance can be created in a text.

The course – divided into two seasons – will address personal essays and autofiction texts, and several authors will be analyzed.
