The recent “Encounter with the Arts,” organized by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan through the Municipal Arts Center, culminated with an enthusiastic response from teachers and students from various high schools in the city. The event sought to offer an experiential immersion in the enriching educational offerings that the CMA provides to young people in Mazatlán.

At the end of the event, educators and students shared their valuable impressions about the knowledge acquired and the experience enjoyed during this unique encounter.

Teacher Diana Jazmín Casillas, from Federal Secondary School No. 4, highlighted the successful initiative of the Institute of Culture and the CMA to bring art closer to young people. “It was an experience that I believe will be unforgettable for them, and I’m convinced that more than one of them will come and register,” she stated. She also highlighted the quality of the events that the CMA offers to the community, underscoring its importance in Mazatlán’s cultural landscape.

Raquel Adriana Tiznado Maldonado, a teacher at Solidaridad Secondary School, expressed her deep gratitude for the invitation to the “Encounter with the Arts.”

This type of event opens students’ minds to diverse artistic expressions, allowing them to explore the available options and make informed decisions, allowing them to register, she noted.

However, she also emphasized the need to foster greater awareness among parents about the transcendental importance of the arts in the integral and emotional development of human beings.

From a student perspective, Penieli, a student at COBAES 119 on Isla de la Piedra, described her experience with moving words:

I feel that the arts have the power to transform our vision of the world. “It’s about seeing things from a different perspective, immersing yourself in a universe of color and music, where your heart beats to the rhythm of the artists’ steps,” he stated.

The “Encounter with the Arts” took place over two presentations – at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., providing more than 600 students per session with the valuable opportunity to learn about and appreciate the wide and engaging educational offerings that the Municipal Arts Center offers to Mazatlan’s youth.
