In anticipation of the upcoming celebration of World Book Day (Wednesday, April 23rd) and Children’s Day, the Institute Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan successfully held the “Jurassic Odyssey” children’s workshop. This activity is part of the “In Spring, the Library Awaits You” program, promoted by the Ministry of Cultura and the General Directorate of Libraries in collaboration with CULTURA.
The Ingeniero Manuel Bonilla Library, located in the Plazuela de los Leones, was the setting for this fun and educational adventure, with the participation of enthusiastic children between the ages of 3 and 10. The activities were led by library staff members Laura Rodríguez, Aura Pérez Sánchez, Brissia López, and Maritza Ávila.
The event began with a captivating story about dinosaurs that kept the children engaged throughout. The narrative took an exciting turn with the unexpected appearance of a dinosaur, generating surprise and joy among those present.
The day continued with the screening of an explanatory video about the Mesozoic era and its history, detailing the development and life stages of dinosaurs. To conclude the activity, the children were invited to express their imaginations by drawing a prehistoric character.
These activities seek to stimulate children’s creativity and foster social skills, offering an enriching alternative to the virtual world and promoting social interaction in an educational and fun way.
At the end of the workshop, the opportunity was taken to celebrate Children’s Day in advance, a gesture that filled the young participants with joy.
The Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Cultura, Turismo, y Arte extends a cordial invitation to participate in upcoming activities at the Ingeniero Manuel Bonilla Library.
