The iconic Carnaval Corridor was transformed into a stage for stories and traditions during the most recent edition of “Dialogues with Our History.” This space, dedicated to disseminating Mazatlán’s cultural heritage, paid a well-deserved tribute to the Mazatlán International Carnaval, a celebration that transcends borders and brings pride to the city.
The event featured the participation of three essential Carnaval figures:
Sodelva Ríos: A renowned couturier whose creations have dressed the Carnaval queens for nearly three decades. Ríos shared details about the creative process behind the royal costumes, revealing the dedication and talent required to bring these works of art to life.

She also shared anecdotes about the challenges and satisfactions of her work, which involves such characteristic terms as “corona,” “cauda,” “garigoles,” “corset,” and colorful fabrics. Sodelva expressed her gratitude for the support of her daughter and her team of seamstresses and embroiderers who assist her in this endeavor.

Lucero I, Mazatlán Carnaval Queen 2025, seemed moved at all times by all the coincidences in her life since she was named Queen, on the day of her election, and on the day of her coronation. She also shared the tributes to the artist who sang her “Las Mañanitas,” singer Pepe Aguilar, son of Luis Aguilar, who in the past had the great grace of giving a horse to a very special person in his life.

Desiree I: Queen of the Floral Games, expressed her profound honor of representing Carnival culture, emphasizing its uniqueness and the impact it has internationally.
She shared that being a queen was always a goal of hers since Mazatlán chooses you, and acknowledged that other beauty pageants, while sometimes very famous, were more attainable than the Mazatlán International Carnaval.

Maestro Alonso Guerra moderated the conversation, guiding the guests through their experiences and memories. The audience had the opportunity to interact with them, expressing their admiration and appreciation for their contribution to Carnaval.

“Dialogues with Our History” reaffirms its commitment to preserving and disseminating Mazatlán’s cultural heritage, honoring the key figures who make the magic of Carnaval possible.
