During the Teachers’ Day celebrations, held at the iconic Ángela Peralta Theater, the talent of the students of the Bachelor of Music program at the Municipal Center for the Arts of CULTURA shone brightly.

With songs such as “Percuesta Quizás” by composer Osvaldo Ferrer and “Bésame mucho” by Consuelo Velázquez, the talented musicians captivated the teachers.

At the event, speeches were given that addressed the challenges faced by education workers with the incorporation of new digital technologies. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of education as an indispensable pillar for the country’s transformation and the fundamental role that teachers play in developing better human beings.

This significant celebration was attended by municipal authorities, led by the Secretary of the Mazatlán City Council, Moisés Ríos, representing the Mayor, Estrella Palacios Domínguez; the Public Prosecutor, Minerva Osuna; and Juan José Rendón Gómez, head of Regional Services of the Sepyc (Secretary of State for Public Education); as well as naval and military authorities.

At the ceremony, teachers were recognized for 28 and 30 years of service, and a video was shown recognizing the work of teachers Benito Soto López, Melquiades Salazar Reyes, Enrique Espinosa Ordóñez, Jesús Dolores Altamirano, and Emilia Soto Gómez. Their names were previously unveiled at the Teachers’ Monument by municipal authorities, led by Mayor Estrella Palacios, as a tribute to their extensive teaching careers.

Also attending the celebration at the theater were My Lai Quintero, Maribel Chollet, Alina Quintero, Wendy Barajas, Claudia Luna, and Heriberto Reséndiz, council members of the Mazatlán City Council, among others, who recognized the invaluable work of the teachers.
