The Instituto Munucipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan invites young people and adults to explore the worlds of literature, writing, and film with a series of free activities at the Municipal Public Libraries starting this Tuesday, May 6th.

The Memory Recording Workshop will begin this Tuesday, May 6th, at 4:30 p.m. at the Carlos McGregor Library located in the Casa Hogar (Home for the Elderly) in the Benito Juárez neighborhood. This activity offers a space for women and men to share their life stories and personal experiences, transforming them into written legacies for family and friends.

The Memory Recording workshop will continue on May 13th, 20tu, and 27th at 4:30 p.m. at the Carlos McGregor Library.

On June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, the Memory Recording workshop will be held at the Biblioteca de los Leones in the Centro neighborhood.

At the end of the workshop, a certificate of participation will be awarded.

Also on Tuesday, May 6th, at 4:00 p.m., at the Margarita “La Nana” Ramírez Library, located in the El Conchi Elementary School, the Cineratura program will continue with a screening of the acclaimed film “Como Agua Para Chocolate,” based on the book by Mexican author Laura Esquivel.

Cineratura is a space created to reflect on the differences or similarities between a film script and a literary work.

Admission to both activities is free and is open to all citizens interested in culture and the arts.
