As part of the prestigious José Limón International Dance Festival, this Wednesday, May 7th, at 7:00 p.m., the program “Impermanences” will be presented in the Ángela Peralta Theater. This profound and moving performance will feature renowned artists Xitlali Piña Poujol, Antonio Salinas, and Johnny Millán, with original music by Gil Tapia.
Impermanencias brings together two solo pieces that, using distinct languages and aesthetics, discuss the fragility of time, the body, and identity:
“Ojos Brillantes,” performed by Xitali Piña Poujol and directed and created by Antonio Salinas, is a choreography that reflects on the body’s evolution in adulthood, with a visual and musical approach that includes works by Richard Strauss, Lucile Boulanger, and Peter Murphy.
“Territorio de otros (manifiesto),” created and performed by Johnny Millán, is inspired by Pedro Lemebel’s iconic manifesto to open a space of resistance and memory from the intimate and diverse, accompanied by Gil Tapia’s original music and a powerfully symbolic performance.
Both creators, members of the System of Support for the Creation of Cultural Projects (SACPC), bring to the stage pieces that move between the poetic, the political, and the deeply human and daring, inviting reflection and wonder. Don’t miss this performance that reaffirms the power of dance as a space for transformation, memory, and dialogue with the present.
An opportunity to celebrate the diversity of perspectives and trajectories within Mexican performing arts.
Tickets $200 pesos available at the Angela Peralta Theater box office.
