The Sombras y Focos Collective will make its debut at the Local Theater Showcase, part of Spring Season 2025, with the powerful play “Ojo de res,” by renowned Mazatlecan playwright Manolo Díaz. The performance will be this Tuesday, May 13th, at 7:00 PM at Casa Haas.

Presented by the Instituto Munucipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan and directed by Manolo Díaz himself, “Ojo de res,” for ages 15 and up, immerses us in the harsh reality of three young people from a marginalized neighborhood. After the theft of prescription glasses, they become entangled in a spiral of revenge that triggers an unexpected tragedy. The 60-minute play is a powerful reflection on despair, guilt, and the consequences of impulsive decisions.

“Ojo de res” returns to Mazatlán stages after eight years, offering a new opportunity to experience this moving and relevant story. Don’t miss the chance to witness the talent of this young collective and the vision of Manolo Díaz.
