The Local Theater Showcase returns with a bang for Spring Season 2025, with a selection of the best local theater companies. From May 11th to 19th, Casa Haas will be the stage for exciting stories, beginning with the heartwarming play “Reborn (The Day of My Death),” the inaugural performance on Sunday, May 11th at 7:00 PM.
“Reborn (The Day of My Death),” written by Jorge Chavarín, under the direction of Jorge and Emmanuel García, introduces us to Sebastián, a firefighter played by Chavarín himself, who struggles with the consequences of his profession and his own inner demons.
Running approximately 50 minutes, this one-act monologue, featuring striking lighting design by Emmanuel García, is aimed at a teen and adult audience (ages 15 and older).
The play invites reflection on mental health and resilience, posing the question: “To be reborn in life or to die with it?” Don’t miss this unique theatrical experience that promises to touch the audience’s deepest hearts.
The Local Theater Showcase, promoted by the Instituto de Cultura Mazatlan is coordinated by Ramón Gómez Polo and provides spaces for expression for emerging theatrical talents.
