With the work “Epiphanies,” the emerging talent of the Mazatlán Professional Dance School will dazzle the audience this Tuesday, May 6th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ángela Peralta Theater, on a premiere night that graces the 38th José Limón International Dance Festival.
For many cultures, epiphanies represent revelations or apparitions in which prophets, shamans, oracles, or astrologers interpret visions that transcend this world.
On stage, a dancer discovers himself through the art of movement, revealing himself in dance, since his only language is the body. It is there that his secrets unfold, his being manifests, and his true nature is revealed.
This program is born from those unique revelations that can only be expressed through dance. Each of the pieces that make up “Epiphanies” has undergone a creative process that interweaves images, music, the poetics of the body, and movement to give shape to questions, concerns, and, ultimately, reflect the different perspectives of the talented and powerful artists in training at the EPDM.
Over the past two decades, the EPDM has established itself as an inclusive and diverse institution, considered one of the leading training centers for contemporary dance in Latin America. It has graduated 22 generations, nearly 250 artists, who have enriched the national and international cultural landscape with innovative creative proposals, social projects, and educational initiatives, positioning the school as a great breeding ground for dancers, creators, teachers, and managers.
The artistic evening will feature pieces by choreographers Paola Sánchez, Camila Ornelas, Mariam Rojas, Ariadne Burgos, Nito Cortes, Nathali Aragón Castro, Ángel Romero, among other creative artists.
Tickets for this performance are on sale at the Ángela Peralta Theater box office. They cost 200 pesos per person and can be purchased from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until the start of the performance.
