As the Local Theater Showcase continued last Tuesday, the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan successfully presented “Ojo de Res,” a play written and directed by playwright Manolo Díaz and staged by the Sombras y Focos Collective.

With a large audience, Casa Haas hosted this play, both funny and raw, that immersed the audience in the reality of impulses and their fatal consequences.

The characters were played by actors Ángel Inzunza, Alonso Caro, and Silvestre Trujillo.

In this story, three young people, driven by a thirst for revenge after their glasses are stolen, embark on a journey that turns tragic as desperation drives them to make impulsive decisions. “Ojo de Res” (Eye of Beef) is a powerful reminder of how destiny can change in the blink of an eye.

The intensity of the play resonated deeply with the audience, who alternated laughter with moments of reflection, culminating in a resounding applause in recognition of the acting talent and the depth of the performance.

Ojo de Res (Eye of Beef): What Did It Teach Us?

On Thursday, May 15th, at the same time and on the same stage, there will be a performance of “Dakota,” a psychological thriller produced by Oscar Castro and directed by Sebastián Sánchez.
