Fun in Acapulco

Sinopsis

Fun in Acapulco (1963), a musical comedy directed by Richard Thorpe, follows Mike Windgren (Elvis Presley), a young man who arrives in Acapulco after losing his job to work as a lifeguard and hotel entertainer. There, he finds romance with Margarita (Ursula Andress) and must overcome his fear of heights to take part in the spectacular cliff diving at La Quebrada. Belonging to the most popular era of the King of Rock and Roll, this film stands out for its unforgettable musical performances, including the track "Guadalajara," which incorporates Mexican music into his repertoire. Featuring a cast that includes Mexican actress Elsa Cárdenas, the movie serves today as a fascinating time capsule reflecting the romantic, high-spectacle tourism image that Hollywood projected onto Mexico in the 1960s. The film will be screened in its original language with Spanish subtitles. Free admission, limited seating.
