J. S. Bach: Life, Legacy, and Artistic Journey

Sinopsis

The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Rafael Palacios, an oboist, researcher, and specialist in historically informed performance in Mexico. Founder of initiatives such as the Academia Barroca and the Sturm und Drang Laboratory, his pedagogical approach combines historical analysis, musical rhetoric, and performance practice to explore the Baroque repertoire. This session offers participants the opportunity to study under a framework grounded in rigorous musicological and stylistic principles. Through this encounter, young musicians will deepen their understanding of Johann Sebastian Bach's life and legacy, acquiring key tools for their artistic development while enhancing the festival's academic depth. Supported by the 2026 PADID Grant Program.
