It was founded in 2011 by the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan, with the aim of taking dance to a very high level.
It is integrated by professional dancers from 18 to 25 years old, from Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Tampico and Mazatlan.

The Dancing Ballet Company of Mazatlan was born due to the need to welcome the dancers of the intermediate level who graduate from the Municipal School of Classic Ballet of Mazatlan, because some have had to emigrate in search of work in the absence of a project to develop professionally.
Its members have finished ballet studies and have already danced professionally and were selected during the summer of 2011, after passing the auditions held in the Dance Hall of the University Cultural Center of the UNAM.
The Company operates under the auspices of the Cultural Institute of Mazatlan and seeks support from the three levels of government and the private initiative to ensure its permanence and consolidation and be able to emerge among the best institutions of classical ballet in Mexico.
In its first season, the Danza Ballet de Mazatlan Company participated in the assembly of La Fille Mal Gardée, El Cascanueces and in the coronations of the 2012 Mazatlan International Carnival.
The company debuted at the Angela Peralta Theater, on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November with the comic ballet La Fille Mal Gardée, with 22 dancers on stage, guest soloists, spectacular scenery by Raúl Font and costumes of the National Dance Company of the Institute National of Fine Arts.
Its official launch was on Tuesday December 13, 2011 with the staging of The Nutcracker, the most anticipated ballet of the holiday season, which repeated the following day with the musical accompaniment of the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts, under the successful baton of maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda.
