Municipal School of Classical Ballet

DIRECTOR

Zoila Fernández

Choreographer, technical advisor and teacher. Born in Holguín, Cuba and nationalized Mexican. Ballet teacher of the Republic of Cuba since 1980; Graduated in Danzario Art by the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba where she graduated with honors when she obtained the Gold Title.

He has worked in Caracas, Venezuela; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Republic of Angola, Africa; and since 1998 she is an advisor to the Cuban School of Ballet in the Municipal School of Classical Ballet that currently directs and belongs to the Institute of Culture of Mazatlan.

Her students have been awarded in international competitions and she has participated in numerous Ballet events and congresses representing Cuba.

In 2001, she represented Mazatlán at the First International Dance Congress held in Monterrey, where she was praised by the press for her choreography “La muñeca Negro”.

In the years 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2010 and 2012 she was invited to make the artistic montages during the coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games, Coronation of the Queen of Carnival and Coronation of the Infant Queen .

Author of an improvement course for ballet teachers based on the study program created by her for the Municipal School of Classic Ballet of Mazatlan, which also teaches the Institute of Culture of Qualiacán, Sinaloa.

Due to her high teaching and artistic results she has different decorations and recognitions and on several occasions she has obtained first place for her work as a choreographer.

Every year she participates in the International Meeting of Ballet Academies held in Havana, Cuba, where she has taught several classes and received awards for the performance of her students.
