The Camerata Campbell and the soprano from Chihuahua,Carla Portillo, presented a program this Sunday at the Angela Peralta Theater that showed some of the most exquisite pieces of classicism and baroque during the continuation of the concerts of the Gordon Campbell Season 2018.

Striking and radiant with an elegant red dress, soprano Carla Portillo astonished all with her vocal power from her first performance with the exquisite interpretation of the baroque piece Cantata No. 51 “Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen” for soprano, trumpets and strings by JS Bach, with whom she initiated the interpretative line of this concert around the elite music of the 18th century.

At the end of the piece, the audience was fortunate to hear the three movements of the “Concert for trumpet and Orchestra in D” by the Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini with the brilliant performance of Héctor Tomás, considered one of the best trumpet players in Mexico.

Carla Portillo, Héctor Tomás and twelve strings and brass of the Camerata Campbell, sent the show to an intermission after provoking a wealth of sensations in the audience after the interpretation of the fragment “Rejoice” from The “Messiah” and “Let the Serafin shine” from the opera “Solomon”, for soprano, trumpet and orchestra” by Georg Friedrich Händel.

Upon his return, Maestro Campbell invited the public to enjoy the next concert on Sunday, February 25, and March 4th, the presentation of “The Great serenades for strings by Dvorak and Tchaikovsky” and “The National Champion Rondalla”, which would culminate the Sunday concerts of the Gordon Campbell Season 2018.

Referring to the guest artist, he commented that when he first heard Carla Portillo in Chihuahua, he knew that she was in front of one of a young voices with one of the most promising futures of national song.

The soprano returned to the stage to bid farewell to the concert with “Exultate jubilate for soprano and orchestra”, “Vorrei spiergarvi, Oh Dio ´K, 418” and “No, night non sei capace ´K, 419”, by Mozart, who gave a brilliant closure when showing off the high notes of her voice.
