The concert of the Sinaloan identity, the Mazatlan pride, the concert of a city that sings and opts for the voice of its artists and the instruments of its orchestra “Cuatro sinaloenses de cuidado” repeatedly raised the crowded public the Angela Peralta Theater.
The tenor Carlos Osuna, the baritone José Adán Pérez – both mazatlecos – the tenor José Manuel Chú (Navolato), the pianist Joel Juan Qui (Culiacán), and the Camerata Mazatlán directed by the maestro Percival Álvarez, offered on Saturday night a historic concert at the closing of the Spring Season 2018.
Convened by the Culture Institute of Mazatlan, the Spring Season came to an end after five months of shows at the Angela Peralta Theater, galleries, squares and 14 popular colonies. 1 thousand 883 artists from Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, the Czech Republic and Costa Rica participated.
It was the General Director of the Institute of Culture and producer of the concert, Raúl Rico González, who said goodbye to the summer festival with a special thanks to the artists and the public that crowded the theater after traveling even from other points of the Mexican geography to admire their artists and see them succeed, as they do in the national and international scene.
The superb performance of the Sinaloan singers included classic Mexican music, Broadway hits and opera to not leave with the desire to those who admire Carlos Osuna, José Adán Pérez and José Manuel Chú for their acting skills, their vocal extension, and that charisma that has been fundamental to increase audiences every step of the way.
Stolen kisses, in the voice of Carlos Osuna; Tell me yes, played by José Adán Pérez and Te quiero dijiste, by José Manuel Chú preceded by “The dream of Olwen” on piano with maestro Joel Juan Qui, they welcomed the evening and caused many to contain the air to be invaded by those deep feelings that composers manage to transmit when their works are in the hands of first-rate artists.
From the sigh, the show went to the rhythmic rhythm of Perfume de Gardenias popularized by the Sonora Santanera, this time, in the voice and the piano of the “Cuatro sinaloenses de cuidado”, a quartet that captivated the respectable with Canela Skin.
Joel Juan Qui was the protagonist of romanticism when he played piano known pieces by Agustín Lara, an action that was enjoyed by hundreds of spectators who filled the three levels of the cultural venue.
Between the romanticism of the songs, the portentous voice of the singers; the overflowing ingenuity of Carlos Osuna, the eloquence of Adán Pérez, the magnetism of José Manuel Chú and the anecdotes about the genesis of the concert conceived in a meeting of friends “almost brothers”, the program went on for two hours, dotted with the intermittent ¡ Bravo Bravo! of the audience and an excellent musical accompaniment of the Camerata Mazatlán that was covered with glory when playing the Suite de Bernstein, in one of the most luminous moments of the night for the members of the orchestra and its director Percival Álvarez.
This historic night in which a torrential downpour caused the brief interruption of the light, the opera could not be absent. The tenor Carlos Osuna gave one of the most effulgent moments of the evening when he performed Dein ist mein Ganzes Herz, emblematic song of Germany, which gave fame to the composer Franz Lehár.
José Adán Pérez chose Largo al factótum, his access key to convince his tutor Plácido Domingo, of his merits to stand out in the opera. With grace and a balanced use of the voice the baritone convinced with the string of words of the funny Barber of Seville by Rossini.
José Manuel Chú conquered Le lucevan le Stelle, from the Tosca Opera, a sublime evocation of passionate love.
The show closed with Broadway hits like “María” from the musical West Side Story in the voice of Carlos Osuna; “Impossible dream”, an invitation to fight for dreams and overcome fear and one of the most famous songs of The Man of La Mancha interpreted by Chú; “New York, New York” by Adán Pérez with the unexpected and fun choreographic accompaniment of Carlos and José Manuel.
In the final stretch, after exhausting the repertoire, the “Cuatro sinaloenses de cuidado” were grateful for the presence of the businessman Juan Manuel Kuroda, present in the room, for supporting their careers and giving as an encore “Ungrateful Core” by Salvatore Cardillo; “In my way”, “Júrame” and “Granada”, sung by the three performers together for the first time in Mazatlan.
When the concert came to an end Raúl Rico González took the stage to close the Spring Season. He thanked the public and stressed that during the festival more than 5 thousand children had the opportunity to attend free shows in the Theater; the Camerata Mazatlán interpreted from Beethoven hast
