This Saturday, March 30, at the Cinema, the “Film Thrillers” series begins; where fear, anxiety, repulsion and traumas will be the elements that confront the characters in the development of their stories.

The first film that will be screened this Saturday at Casa Haas at 6:00 pm, will be “LThe Night of the Hunter” (1955), by director Charles Laughton.

Based on the book of the same title by Davis Grubb, it tells the story of Ben Harper, who overwhelmed by the economic situation, commits an assault. Persecuted by the police, he has time to get home and hide the money by promising his children, John and Pearl, that they will not tell anyone, even their mother. Ben is condemned to death, but before he is forced by Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum) to confess where the money is and when he is released he goes to Ben’s house to get him.

At the time due to its lack of understanding on the part of the public and the distributors, it was not the blockbuster that was expected, but 64 years later it has become a cult film, considered a masterpiece of cinema and is included among the best history movies.

The film is shown in its original language, English, with subtitles in Spanish. Free admission and limited space.
