Spring Season 2019 of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan presented a fun family show at the Angela Peralta Theater with the adaptation of the musical theater “The Wizard of Oz”, the classic story of Frank Baum.

Under the direction of the teacher Giovanny Armenta, the students of the Children’s Theater Workshop of the Municipal Arts Center and the Children’s Choir of the Municipal Arts Center filled the story of “Dorothy” and her little dog “Totó”with joy, color and laughter, who, plucked by a violent tornado, are taken from their home in Kansas to reach the magical land of Oz.

Following the yellow path, they find the terrible “Witch of the West”, the kindly “Witch of the East” and her inseparable friends, “The Scarecrow”, “The Tin Man” and “The Cowardly Lion” seeking to fulfill all their wishes thanks to the “Great and powerful Wizard of Oz”.

50 artists on stage, jocular performances, audiovisual projections, songs and choreographies gave the public a great Sunday afternoon.
