The sixth edition of the Theater Show of the Cultural Institute of Mazatlan continued its programming on Thursday afternoon at Casa Haas with the play “Son Amores”, an aggressive proposal from Grupo Teatral Genio and Figura that stifled the audience from beginning to end.

Actors Héctor Luna (“Édgar”), Vanesa Calderón (“Márgara”) and Linda Ávila (“Paloma”) drew a corrosive microcosm of violence, unconsciousness and sexuality with three characters trapped by their social context.

Through piercing monologues that revealed the anguish, desolation and desires of the young naive “Paloma” to escape from her reality and to aspire to a world of power through her beauty; and dialogues riddled with rudeness and humiliation between “Édgar” and “Márgara” “Son amores” demolished the public.

At the end of the work, the actors were recognized by the attendees for their absolute dedication in this modest, but powerful proposal.
