It will be next week when the musicians who signed up for the “Soy de la banda” program will receive from the Hennessy company, the proportional amount of the million pesos they donated, this in support of the damage they suffered by the Covid-19 pandemic, declared José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, General Director of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán.
He specified that the cognac company will be in charge of transferring the resources directly to the selected musicians through a digital card, which guarantees that the support reaches the final hands without any intermediary.
Tostado Quevedo stressed that the gift has not been granted yet because some musicians have not complied with the full delivery of their data, so far 606 have completed the process, to whom the resources would be reaching them in the next few days.
“The Government of Mazatlán was the link, the Instituto de Cultura received the requests and information to make a register of the beneficiaries, but it will be Hennessy, who next week, will deliver the resource directly through an electronic card to each musician.”
The Director of Cultura stressed that the Government of Mazatlán at no time received a single peso of that amount. He stated that the Mayor, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres remains firm in the conviction of serving as a support to the entire guild, thanking Hennessy and the magazine “Soy Grupero” for their gift, ensuring that the word promised will be kept.
