The National Theater Company, Kraken Theater Company, Red Iguana, Mazatlán Compañía Escénico and Antón Araiza Company, will be in charge of presenting great works at the Festival Internacional de Teatro Escena Mazatlán 2022.
The billboard for the eleventh edition of this Festival was announced at a press conference by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, Director of the Instituto Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art, together with maestra Zoila Fernández, Artistic Director, and Ramón Gómez Polo, Theater Coordinator of the Municipal Center of Arts.
It will be from September 27th to October 2nd, six days of great staging and the presentation of experienced artists, including Julia Egurrola, Gabriela Núñez, Luisa Huertas, Luis Rábago, and José Carlos Rodríguez, among others.
The main venue is the majestic Ángela Peralta Theater, with the hours of 8:00 p.m., prices range between $150 to $300 pesos.
José Ángel Tostado Quevedo spoke of the importance of this Festival that promotes the performing arts and gives Mazatlecos the opportunity to enjoy great works that are presented on stages in Mexico City and in outstanding events such as the National Theater Show .
“These are works that are presented on large stages, they are renowned artists, and thanks to Mayor, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, they arrive in Mazatlan for the enjoyment of all at super affordable prices.”
The billboard will be follows; September 27th: “Quisiera” written by Ramón Gómez Polo; on the 28th comes “Hombruna” from the Kraken Theater Company; “An Act of Communion” by Compañía Antón Araiza is presented on September 29th; on the 30th at the TAP “De Sazón” of the National Theater Company; On October 1st, “Caneros” is presented, a collaboration between Iguana Roja and the National Theater Company; On October 2, the Festival closes with the children’s play “Las Ocho Joyas de Igu”.
