Local residents enjoyed an afternoon of games.
After the inhabitants of the Villa Unión syndicate were affected by the heavy rains recorded in recent hours, the Municipal Government, through the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán and the Directorate of Rural Link, Welfare and Social Development, led joy and support to the most affected areas such as Colonia 7 de Abril and Flor de Mayo.
It was through the “Cultural Lotteries” program that children, youth and adults enjoyed a pleasant afternoon with this traditional game, which has among its cards, emblematic and historical places of the Pearl of the Pacific, thus, the participants had fun and learned a little from Mazatlan.
“We are very happy to bring the cultural lottery to these two neighborhoods that were affected by the heavy rains… people are having the best time, learning,” said José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, General Director of Cultura.
He also specified that the Mazatlan Cultural Festival is approaching where through the program “Sábados de Sindicaturas” they will take different artistic shows for free to all corners of the Port.
For his part, Jesús Heredia, Head of Rural Link, mentioned that giving continuity to the requests received by citizens in a first delivery of support to this area, together with Cultura and on the instructions of Mayor Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres and with the support of the Foundation Sowing Smiles, they decided to return and deliver fun and more support such as clothing, mattresses, even a bed to Mrs. Isabela whose home was severely affected by the heavy rains recorded on Monday night.
