Poetry and literature are a fundamental part of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2022. In an afternoon to remember a bunch of local writers starred at Casa Haas in a poetic afternoon at the opening of the Literary Thursday program where dozens of people witnessed this fiesta of writing.
The spekers, Marcela González de Rico, Verónica Poujol and Paola Calzada, had maestra María Muñiz as moderator, and shared their experience under the theme “Why and for what write poetry”? , where they remembered their beginnings and sometimes read some of their creations.
They agreed that poetry is a means they found to express emotions, it is to marvel and are amazed at what they see, a journey into their own feelings.
Already inspired, they remembered the work of great writers and poets such as Octavio Paz, Jorge Luis Borges, Amado Nervo and loved ones, who were the inspiration to write beautiful poems.
The Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, directed by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, works hard to give a voice to artists who need to express their feelings through poetry, literature, or any fine art.
