The installation of bathrooms, bars and the introduction of wiring to supply electricity to the stages and to merchants who will sell their products in Olas Altas and Paseo Claussen during the Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2023 festivities are advancing.

Juan Manuel Flores Vázquez, coordinator of Olas Altas on behalf of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, reported that the three modules with around 24 urinals each are almost ready, which will serve the Carnaval crowd at the height of the Sinaloa Shield; Ángel Flores street and the Clavadista roundabout.

Paul Wong, Director of Operations for the Instituto de Cultura, stated that all the toilets are connected to the municipal drainage network and for no reason will there be sewage discharges into the ocean.

In this regard, Flores Vázquez commented that all the bathrooms have drainage, none goes to the ocean, because it is not allowed and they have always been connected to the Mazatlan drainage network.

In addition to the urinals installed by CULTURA, the Government of Mazatlán will place 60 more portable toilets, which will be distributed from the Freeman Hotel to the Monument to the Continuity of Life.

There will be 10 modules, in the smallest there will be 5 bathrooms for men and 5 for women and in the largest up to 10 bathrooms for each sex.

The portable toilets will be placed at El Colegio del Pacífico, Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez School; Freeman Hotel, the Deer Monument; Olivera ocean pool, the Mazatlecan Woman statue and Glorieta Sánchez Taboada.

Juan Manuel Flores indicated that the Instituto de Cultura will put personnel in these places to monitor the containers and avoid spillage of sewage in the Carnaval area.
