On Thursday, March 30th, a class, open to the public, was held in the Music Hall of the Mazatlán Municipal Arts Center to appreciate the development of its students and members.
The director of the Youth Orchestra of the Mazatlán Municipal Arts Center, Juan Carlos Chavarría Reyes, pointed out that the intention of showing a class is to demonstrate and publicize the talent and level of musicality that exists in the CMA School of Music.
The performed repertoire consisted of well-known pieces that are favorites of the public such as Poeta and Campesino with a very beautiful opening, the composer is Franz von Suppé, later the piece Sobre las Olas was performed, followed by Waltz No. 2 of the Suite of Jazz by Shostakovich, to conclude with Danzón N°2 by Arturo Márquez, a piece that is said to be the second Mexican anthem.
The director commented that the purpose of these events is to try to attract people, the Mazatlan public, to listen to the Youth Orchestra and to see the quality of musicians that come out of the Municipal Arts Center.
Maestro Luis Alberto Corrales considered it important to highlight that the scores played by the Youth Orchestra are professional scores, they are the same scores that are played in professional orchestras, the work shown was brilliant despite the little time they had to prepare it. The performance of the students, the teachers and the parents who supervise and support their children so that their artistic work is optimal is very valuable.
In addition, the time to be able to interpret these pieces with the quality seen is sometimes between four to six years to be able to do so, because they are of a very high level and this is what makes them wonderful, said maestro Luis Alberto Corrales.
Some of the members of the Youth Orchestra of the Mazatlán Municipal Center for the Arts are: Fer Valdez Soto, Martín Quintero, Ada Gil, Erick Ramos, Raquel Baca, David Eduardo, Diana Itzel Ramírez and Davis Aguilar.
