Schools that are a benchmark in contemporary dance in Sinaloa, will present the show “Mar de Huellas”, a ocean stage to navigate new dance horizons, on Sunday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. hours at the Ángela Peralta Theater.

The work that will be presented for Spring Season 2023, produced by the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, are the result of the formative work of the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlán and the Superior School of Dance of Sinaloa, pillars of dance In Sinaloa.

On stage, more than 50 dancers will perform a selection of repertoire and premiere pieces that will reveal the interpretive work of the young generations and the formative progress of both schools.

The program includes the premiere of Frágil Secreto (EPDM), an on-stage reflection that searches, at the root of our past, for the reasons that make us flourish in the present.

Claudia Lavista’s choreography will be performed by the dancers and co-creators: Regina Morales, Yazmín Berenice García, Andrea Belén Dávalos, Stephanie Sánchez, Fernanda Xanat Córdova and Jéssica Arellano (XXII generation).

“Frágil secreto” is a piece created during a residence of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) at the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlán in February of 2023, with the support of JAMD and the Municipal Instituto de Turismo, Cultura y Arte, through an inter-institutional collaboration agreement.

The choreographies for “Mar de Huellas” were created by Javier Alejandro Pérez Caicedo, Ronen Izhaki (invited Israeli choreographer), Shantí Vera, Claudia Lavista (SNCA/SACPC 2020-23), and Francisco Córdova.

The lighting of “Mar de Huellas” will reflect the talent of Andrea Luna, Víctor Manuel Ruiz, Carlos Zamora and Francisco Córdova; the costume design is created by Johnny Millán and Arturo Lugo, and the sound design participants are Alberth Mathias and Manuel Estrella, among others.
