From September 23rd to 29th, the Ángela Peralta Theater will become the stage for “Escena Mazatlán 2024,” a unique theatrical experience. The first play “Danzantes del Alba,” created by the renowned company Teatro Línea de Sombra, will raise the curtain on September 23rd at 8:00 p.m.
“Danzantes del Alba” is a production acclaimed by critics for its originality and depth. “A play that makes us reflect on the human condition” (La Jornada). “A show that combines dance and theater to tell a moving story” (Milenio).
This piece brings together experimental theater, contemporary dance, and live music and asks how forms of joy relate to work routines. A multitude of images converge in this work, which is both a ghost carnival and the making of a festive costume made with hundreds of material, affective, political, narrative or unconscious scraps.
Danzantes is a small machine that dances and works, that travels through Mexico between migrant shelters, maquiladoras, prisons, abandoned buildings, small towns, roads and parties. The contemporary exploration of work is a question about the modes of exploitation in the twilight of neoliberalism.
The International Theater Festival “Escena Mazatlán 2024” is organized by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, and will feature a variety of works by companies that dignify the national stage.
The cost of the ticket is $200 pesos. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the best theater offering in Mexico. Box office 669 982 4446 ext. 103. Digital box office 669 120 0020
