With the participation of more than 40 singers, teachers and guests, Maestro Ernesto García Velasco, considered one of the best children’s choir instructors in Mexico, shared his knowledge with the CMA Children’s Choir in the master class “Small voices, big dreams.”

For more than two hours, Maestro García Velasco transmitted his enthusiasm and experience to the participants, using his own methods that achieved an immediate connection and an atmosphere of joy and energy. In addition, he joined the Children’s Choir of Tepototzlán, State of Mexico, creating an artistic brotherhood between both choirs.

Maestro García Velasco expressed that his life is centered on children’s choirs and that he has developed a specific methodology for children’s choral teaching. She stressed that singing in a group provides security, encourages teamwork and allows children to develop social and musical skills.

Among the songs that were performed during the master class were “Do, Re, Mi” from “The Rebel Novice”; “Niño corazón de maíz” by Julio Morales; and “Que canten los niños” by Julio Perales. Pianist Juan Pablo García accompanied the participants, creating an exceptional musical atmosphere at the CMA Music Museum.

Mariela Angulo, Director of the CMA Children’s Choir, thanked for the opportunity and the trust that the parents of the participants have placed in the teachers, as well as the valuable contribution of Maestro García Velasco, who managed to quickly connect with the children and create a class full of energy and joy.
