The Ars Sonui group, originally from Aguascalientes, starred in two memorable concerts at Casa Haas, delighting hundreds of attendees in the Gordon Campbell Season.

In a double presentation, the group shared the stage with horn player Gordon Campbell, who joined them to perform masterpieces by Mozart and Peter von Winter. The concert “The Classics to Remember” presented Mozart’s Divertimento kv 251 and Peter von Winter’s Septet in E flat op. 10.

The performances, held at 12:00 and 5:00 pm at the venue on Mariano Escobedo Street, made Mazatlán the fourth venue of Ars Sonui’s national tour, after concerts in Aguascalientes, Guadalajara and San Luis Potosí.

For almost 90 minutes, the musicians delighted the audience with beautiful melodies. In the first part of the concert, they performed the Septet in E flat op. 10 by Peter von Winter, with pieces such as “Allegro moderato”, “Menuetto allegreto”, “Adagio” and “Rondo”. After the intermission, the music continued with Divertimento No. 11 KV. 251 by Amadeus Mozart, with pieces such as “Menuetto”, “Andantino”, “Menuetto (theme with Variazioni)”, “Rondo” and “Marcia alla francese”.

The audience rewarded the musicians with a strong ovation, while other spectators ended up standing, recognizing the musical quality of the performers.

“Ars Sonui is a group that has traveled a large part of the republic through various scholarships won, and the reason is the quality of the group,” commented soloist Gordon Campbell. “The interesting thing about this group is that in addition to playing as professionals last week, they rehearsed a group of young people who were here recently.”
