At the Experimental Forum of the Municipal Center for the Arts, the choreographic composition “Conversations with the Shadow” was presented in an open class, performed by the XXV generation of the Professional Dance School of Mazatlán of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art de Mazatlan.

The direction of this choreographic composition is teacher and choreographer Xitlali Piña Poujol, the creation of this piece cites Carl Jung’s reflection, “No one becomes enlightened by fantasizing figures of light, but by making their darkness conscious.”

The program is the result of the body research work, carried out throughout the first semester within the subject of choreographic composition.

Each of the works is created by the young artists in training based on specific premises and a deep and intimate creative laboratory where they have put their questions, concerns, whims and where the stage territories that they are interested in creating are revealed.

Xitlali Piña is a renowned director and choreographer who has participated as a guest dancer in companies such as: Ballet Teatro del Espacio, Asalto Diario, Danza Contemporánea XXI, Proyecto Bará, Ballet Neoclásico de América Latina, Proyectos en Movimiento, Cuerpo Etéreo, Teoría de Gravedad, Arte Móvil Danza Clan, Clan de Rés and Laboratorio del Cuerpo.
