In Mazatlán, time is measured in Carnavals, and in the 2025 edition “La Perla”, Desiré Velázquez Ayón will be the Centennial Queen of the Floral Games.
Excited to get what for her is the most representative crown of this festival, S.G.M. Desiré I declared herself very happy with this achievement since it was the crown she was dying to get, what she most longed for, but above all she said she felt grateful to life and to God.
After the curtain closed and having cried with happiness for the triumph of this historic night, the elected sovereign declares herself ready to become an enthusiastic ambassador of the Port of Mazatlán for the next cycle that is to come.
You won the crown of the Centennial of the Floral Games, how do you feel?
“I can’t believe it, there is nothing that represents this iconic celebration of Carnaval more than the 100 years of the Floral Games, and representing this celebration is an honor that I still find hard to assimilate, I can’t believe it, I was dying for this crown, I longed for it, and the truth is that winning it makes me feel proud and aware that God is present in my life, very grateful.”
How do you rate this night?
“A thousand out of a hundred, a thousand out of a hundred, definitely many mixed emotions, I did it very calmly, I enjoyed it very much, and what an honor to be able to represent the greatest fiesta as the two sovereigns who represent Carnaval Mazatlán”
This is a very important victory, who do you dedicate it to?
“I dedicate it to my team, to my cheering group, I dedicate it to my mother and I dedicate it to my father. Thank you very much.”
